A Place Apart Grounds

A Place Apart is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Putney, Vermont.

Most of the 23 acres at the lower property consist of forested hillsides, which surround the buildings of the lower property and provide an isolated wilderness for hiking, tracking, and outdoor worship. A Place Apart's woods are adjacent to those of The Putney School, which are available for hiking, allowing for much longer forest walks to and from A Place Apart.

Because A Place Apart is a community focused largely on "stepping apart," the woods are not an after-thought; they are a centrally important part of the grounds.

A Place Apart has full use of two nearly adjacent properties on a gorgeous mountain ridge in Putney, Vermont. These privately-owned grounds are made available to the A Place Apart community and its guests, as a home for A Place Apart.
