A Place Apart Welcomes Many Guests in 2009 Much of A Place Apart's current activity involves providing space and teaching for retreat, reflection, sanctuary, and learning to individuals and groups from all across North America. Some of our recent guests include the following: A person going through a family crisis used the A Place Apart Retreat Center for an extended period of time as a kind of sanctuary. A young adult couple in the midst of a geographic and vocational transition spent time at A Place Apart; a week in the winter and again in the late spring. A young couple from the Midwest seeking to live more fully connected to God, the Earth, others and themselves came to gain focus related to next steps. A retreat for people with a close relationship to A Place Apart met together in Vermont to explore how the Spirit is moving in our lives, and where that is taking us. A young local woman came for an extended weekend for retreat and discernment. Church of the Brethren Youth from around the country came to A Place Apart for a denominationally sponsored workcamp. Originally scheduled for a single week in July, another week was added to accommodate an unexpectedly large enrollment. Click here to read more about this workcamp. A group calling itself Harvest Time will gather for a second time at A Place Apart in September 2009. Harvest Time is a discipleship group that comes together twice a year for a time of prayer, rest, celebration and conversation that specifically asks; "How do we follow God in the way of Jesus with our resources?"
