A Place Apart has begun to call together small groups of people willing to enter into a process of discernment as they seek individually and together to discover what it will mean to follow Jesus into a new aliveness. We now live within this process of discernment ourselves as leaders of A Place Apart. We have invited others to join us in our local community. We invite those of you who have experienced our teaching within the Warrior Mystic Monk focus into this intentional seeking. We have a deep love and respect for the church; it is where we have been nurtured and where we were introduced to Jesus. For many of us, the church is our family. We strongly encourage those who are seeking with us to thankfully and humbly remain within their church family. At the same time, we recognize that the church as we have known it; the North American church, the institutional church, the pastor-centered, program-centered, property centered, issue centered church is crumbling. It can appear that so much is being lost. This sense of loss combined with a longing for something more in life seems to be the necessary prelude to genuine seeking. Small groups of people searching for something more are beginning to find one another. This appears to be the work of the Holy Spirit. This appears to be the beginning of the new/ancient community of Jesus. Step apart and become a part of all that is and all that was and all that's meant to be. |
